INVITATION

The Organizing Committee extends a cordial invitation to participate in The 3rd International Symposium on Group Five Elements, which will be held at IME/Military Institute of Engineering, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from Monday, March 22 to Tuesday, March 23, 1999. There will be an opening cocktail on Sunday evening, March 21.

The Symposium will be organized by the Committee under the auspices of the Brazilian Catalysis Society (SBCat), Companhia Brasileira de Metalurgia e Mineração (CBMM), and Nissho Iwai Corporation, with the operational support of the Brazilian Institute of Petroleum (IBP).

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

The major themes of the program are the preparation, physico-chemical properties, catalytic activities, and industrial application as catalysts of group five elements or any materials containing niobium. Other related topics such as sensors, functional ceramics, etc., are also included.

The scientific program will consist of invited lectures and contributed papers which will be presented either as oral or posters.

Cancelations

Should you be prevented from attending the Symposium, you may be replaced by another person at no additional fee. Just write and sign an authorization.

Cancelations should be notified in writing to the IBP up to 10 days before the Symposium (March 12th). We will refund 80% of the amount paid. No refunds will be made after the above date.

Languages

The official language of the Symposium is English. Simultaneous translation will be not provide.
